“Dad, Where Are We Going?” (Korean: 아빠 어디가?; alt. trans: “Dad, where are you going?”) is a reality show that takes celebrity dads and their kids on an overnight camping trip…with no moms. That’s when the hilarity ensues! What makes a good father? Fathers who are busy working? Fathers who are tired at home? What about the fathers – who make up the majority of Korean fathers – who cannot function without their wives? How much of a “place” do these fathers have in their families? As their children grow older, the father’s role becomes more and more distant, but here, “five men who’ve become fathers,” try to reclaim their places! This is a program that will carefully observe 48 hours without mothers and explore the status of this generation’s fathers. “Dad, Where Are We Going?” will bring you a story of growth with the real depiction of the two peoples’ relationships.
Can celebrities take on the role of being good parents? These role models from a variety of groups set out to care for children and toddlers in an attempt to show that they have what it takes to be a parent. Through this show, celebrities get to show a different side to themselves as they tend to the children’s emotional and physical needs for extended periods of time (in truth, not much more than a day in most cases). Their charisma and character are put to the test as the idol groups get a chance to experience parenthood first hand by raising children younger than five years old. The main premise; whether or not the celebrities make “good” parents.
